Is a Mini Goldendoodle the Right Pet for me?

Some people would think that a mini goldendoodle or any doodle variations is a separate and accepted breed of dog by the American Kennel Club. But despite its being not a full-fledged standard breed, many people are still eager to get hold or even own one as a pet.

When it comes to their temperament, the goldendoodles are among the dogs with warm behavior, friendliest nature, and superior intelligence that can keep up with any training.

This is because of the fact that these dogs are result when golden retrievers and poodle?two of the world?s most popular breeds?are crossbred. In the case of a mini goldendoodle, it is a cross between and golden retrievers and miniature poodle.

Behavior wise, the golden retrievers and poodles are smart, friendly, and favorite hunting companion dogs. With the desirable qualities of both the golden retrievers and poodle, it is expected to get a dog that possesses these characteristics.

 Training

But despite the commendable and positive attributes of the two breeds, this does not guarantee that any crossbred dogs from these breeds at all times will get all the positive attributes of its parent breed. In order to ensure that the goldendoodles won?t develop any annoying behavior that does not represent its parent breed, training is necessary.

When we talk about training, this does not mean a day of teaching the dog how to sit, walk, and fetch or any other tricks. What?s very important about dog training is how to teach the dog some proper skills like not to be destructive and elicit aggressive behavior, which is very common among any breed of dogs.

Since all dogs don?t have a concept of right and wrong, teaching them some important desirable behaviors that every dog should learn is the owner?s major responsibility in pet ownership. Although this may take a lot of time, once the dog masters all these skills, it worth all the effort and patience.
